Healing & End of Life for Pets
From the age of two my mother said animals would always come up to me, no matter what type. For that matter, so did people. She knew she had a healer on her hands.
These days pets are like children to us, and have become intimate members of the family. We no longer frown upon the sadness of people who have lost a pet because we recognize the importance of the loss and the pain of grief. For some, a pet is their closest domestic partner. It is very distressing for a pet to fall ill, because we are not able to ask it a question and get an answer. We enter into anxiety because we can’t help, or we don’t know the best way to help.
There are no species barriers for me as a healer, so I can work just as readily on a cat as I can a person. I enjoy working on animals because their conditions are often much more clearly defined and, shall we say, less cluttered? Some animals are able to share their concerns with me directly just by touch. Most times it requires a regular meditation to determine what is going on.
I offer healing services for dying pets as well, to prepare the animal’s soul for transition and ascension. The shamanic death rites can also be performed after the pet has passed away. This should be done as soon as possible and is obviously only really possible when the animal has died at home, unless you have an awesome vet of course who doesn’t mind the intrusion. Many clinics provide a quiet room where the euthanasia is performed. I can create sacred space and assist in the departure of the loved one's soul in a ceremony that not only assists the soul of the dying, but provides tremendous comfort for those saying farewell.
