Choosing Between a Distance or Contact Healing Session

There are two possible approaches to a healing session – distance or contact. If you choose a distance healing session, the work is done from afar, on the energetic or light body of the individual. When you first come across the notion of distance healing it can be a challenge to accept. There are no physical or geographical boundaries to healing work – distance is irrelevant. Light work is done at the quantum level. It can be hard to put aside our attachment to hard science and physical “reality”. Once you let you go of these normal human attachments you can really open yourself up to a whole new level of healing.

Contact healing is closer to hands-on, and yet no hands and actual physical contact are involved. A client is typically laid out in front of the healer and then the healer works over the person but within the light body just as he does in distance work.

Making the choice between a distance or contact healing session is really up to the individual, but I am happy to guide a client to the most appropriate choice depending on the situation at hand. After an initial email or phone consultation I can usually guide a client to the most suitable option. Sometimes it is in the client’s best interests to come and be part of the ceremony. I find this to be particularly true for people suffering from psychological disorders that give rise to depression or similar feelings of spiritual dis-ease. Being part of the ceremony can be very healing, but it is not a requirement.

Distance healing is clearly an easy choice for clients who do not live in the Edmonton area. It also allows the client to carry on with their lives and not have to set aside a two-hour window to have the work done. In our hectic world, two hours can be very valuable. I do like to make sure that the client is not doing some long-distance driving, or in the middle of important meetings; quiet rest at home is preferable.

In the case of distance work, a fully descriptive report of everything that is seen is written up and sent to the client on completion of the healing session. For those coming to an in-house healing session, the client will be aware of everything that is being seen, described or dealt with from the healer’s perspective, rendering a full report unnecessary. Clients are welcome to record the session if they wish to.

From a personal perspective as a healer, I really enjoy distance work. Removal of the physical presence of the client allows for a less cluttered channel to the healing realm. Egos are set aside, no longer forming part of the equation. The energetics of individual interactions between healer and client are minimized and the healing work becomes pure and clean. I frequently get to a deeper level of soul analysis during a distance healing. When faced with chronic and serious illness this is definitely my preference. However, when dealing with sadness and spiritual depletion, coming to see me face to face can be very important to the client. Such a decision comes back to intuitive guidance and the reading of an individual’s situation and their comfort levels to determine the most appropriate path. And, of course, it depends on where you live.
